Good News

After approximately 36 hours of feeling the chills, nasuea, muscle aches, jelly legs, and completely fatigued, my body decided to commence with upheaving all nutrience I attempted to put in it.

"But the title of this post is 'Good News'," you think. "What is so good about that?"

Well, you see, due to impeccable coordination with my hormone levels, I had believed that the intense wave of sickness I was feeling was actually a symptom of some other monthly occurrence which is taboo to mention even though approximately half of the world experiences it every month for approximately thirty-five years of each of their lives, and that from here on out I would be doomed to an even closer deathbed than what I have experienced for the past several years.

Alas, I was mistaken.

And thus is my rejoicing.

I have the flu!

Who knows where I got it from, because everyone else had it at least a month ago.

With nothing else to do today (I have finished my last book and am too embarrassed to go back to the library to check out new books because I have a late fee), I am reading CJane's Guide to Provo.
Did you know that she has a list of 100 things to do in Provo?
It makes me feel nostalgic.
Because, you see, I have applied to a job in Las Vegas and there is a very good chance I will get it. And as much as I like to complain about having nothing to do here (I am not about to stop), CJane gives some very good ideas.

Of course, my favorite things all involve eating out.

So I put together a list of places I need to eat before I leave Provo. And because I enjoy feeling accomplished, I included places I have already tried.

Here they are, in no particular order:
  • Ripple's Drive In
  • Startups Quality Candies (more like I just need to SHOP there)
  • Sammy's
  • Stan's Drive Thru
  • Stumpy's (may I recommend their strawberries on a stick? Really addictive. Srun and I agree, we will be making a return trip.)
  • Rancherito's
  • SLABpizza
  • Tommy's (to see if it's like what we have in California--doubtful)
  • Nicolitalia Pizzeria
  • Food and Care Coalition (this one will probably never happen. I am intensely curious now because there is an Associate we have who has not bought groceries for years even though he/she is perfectly capable of doing so. He/she just goes to FCC. What kind of stuff must they be handing out???)
  • Shirley's Bakery
  • Provo Bakery
  • Sweet Tooth Fairy
  • Guru's
  • Spark Restaurant & Lounge (to see if it lives up to its hip scene-ster reputation)
  • Rooster Dumpling & Noodle Bar
  • El Azteca (not sure if I've been here before or not. I can always use good Mexican food.)
  • Cocoa Bean (more cupcakes!)
And there you have it. My metaphorical Provo bucket list.

Enjoy getting through your list! El Azteca is one of my all-time favorites, and my folks used to eat at Stan's (another of my favorites). Oh, and my brothers keep talking about J-dogs. I don't know where you get them or if that's the name of the place, but they love them. You may want to check it out.

Hope you feel better soon.

You should go to Shoga up in Orem. It is our favorite restaurant around here! Japanese cuisine! MMMM delicious!

Welcome to the Silver State (not that I consider Vegas really part of our great state, but most geography teachers would probably argue the point). I hope you feel better.
