awkward

Well, remember how the Vegas manager called my field group manager? And I felt really sheepish?

I found that out because last night as I was eating dinner with Srun, my coworker called me and said that Field Group Manager came in looking for me at about 5pm (we typically go home at 4:30, she and my Development Manager stayed later) and that he said the Las Vegas Store Manager had called about me. When FGM couldn't find me, he went in with the DM and they talked about whether or not I really wanted this.
But she couldn't hear the details, so she wasn't sure what all was said.

I was really nervous, for a number of reasons. One, did this mean that the LVSM still wanted me to work for him and I was going to have to reject an offer? Two, did this mean that my FGM was confused as to which store I really wanted to work for? Three, did he realize that I wasn't supposed to be there by 5 or did he think I was a slacker?

So today I poke my head into FGM's office (intimidating - the only other time I've been in there was when I interviewed for my current position; he is my boss's boss's boss) and say that my coworker had said he was looking for me yesterday.

FGM: No, I wasn't.

Me: You weren't? She called me and said you were.

FGM: Nope. I wasn't even here until later.

Me: Like around five?

FGM: Oh. Yeah. I ran into DM and was talking to him about the new Las Vegas FGM [a good friend of both my FGM and DM]. I waved at your coworker through the door.

Luckily FGM is really nice and friendly so I'm sure he wasn't annoyed by my pestering.
But seriously.
How interpretive was that story????
