All I'm sayin is... I'm gettin it back

I met this guy in my ward a little while ago. And a couple nights ago he and his roommate came over. I had thought they were like, 21 or 22. Straight off the mission. But no. This kid is twenty-five years old. And all of a sudden he became a lot more attractive to me. And then he solved our Rubik's cube. And for some reason that was like, a huge turn on for me.
And then I asked him to show me how to do it. And he made some joke about how this was how girls tried to reel men in. Like you know. "Oh, show me how to swing the golf club and put yours arms around me while you're at it!" That kind of deal. And I blushed, because it was kind of true, except with less physical contact and I actually really did want to learn how to do the stupid cube. And as he was TRYING to show me (did not work as well as we had hoped) I liked it, and I also felt really stupid.

You see, I don't like to be the helpless female. In fact, I don't really need immediate help from men for anything except opening jam jars. It makes me feel needy and insecure.
But something about him trying to talk to me about repetitive patterns and sequencing felt good. I guess it made me feel feminine. And I liked it.

Anyway. My accidental strategy totally worked because last night he invited me over to watch Sherlock Holmes. I brought Cleo and we schooled them in ping-pong (but the version where you hit it off the table). Hahah.

But don't get excited. It's not going to go anywhere because he's from Alaska and probably likes outdoorsy types of girls. Also he is leaving in two weeks to go work there for the summer.

Speaking of outdoorsy, I got the job in American Fork. Luckily I won't have to move there, yuck. I start Monday. I found out Friday. Pretty rad. So now that I'm officially living in Utah, I have to start enjoying the outdoors more. You know, mountains and rocks and dirt and all of that.

Wish me luck!

Once you get out, you'll realize how awesome dirt can be. Clears one's head to be in all that beauty.
