Remember that one time I got tetras to go in the betta tank but the tetras kept nipping at the betta's fins so I got rid of them? I got ghost shrimp to replace the tetras.
The only concern I was supposed to have was that the betta would eat the shrimp. Well, the betta didn't bother the tetras so I figured the shrimp would be fine. After all, they just hung out at the bottom and scavenged the leftover food and poop, right?
Imagine my surprise today when I came home around 2pm to find a shrimp clinging the betta's back and eating his fins!!!!! I scooped all those suckers up and flushed them right down the toilet.
Now my poor betta looks so bad! He was super mad for a while afterward and kept flaring at me through the glass. I'm worried that he'll get fin rot and die. Grrr. No more friends for him!

Well, Merry Christmas anyway.
How's he doing tonight?
And I hope you had a nice Christmas.
Good grief, there should be a soap opera about life in Elizabeth's fish tank.
