So I swear each week for the past month we have had an applicant give us fake documents when it came time to hire them.
I've noticed that I'm getting more and more blunt when I break the news that... *gasp!*... we know!
Today I was just like, "[Name], this card is fake. We need you to go to the Social Security office and get a real card before we can hire you."
It's really frustrating because I need to fill those empty spots and there are lots of people who would LOVE to fill those spots, but can't because I was wasting time with someone who lied to me instead.
I knew the one today wouldn't be able to keep working because yesterday when I was explaining to him which documents he could use, he said he would bring in copies. "No, we need the original documents." "Oh, okay."
Then this morning he didn't show up to my office. I figured he knew he wouldn't get away with it. I shredded his paperwork and deleted his file.
During the other new associates' tour downstairs, one of the job coaches told me that the guy had come to work early that morning. I asked the guy about it and he said he "forgot" that he was supposed to come upstairs.
"Okay, well I'll call you up when I'm done with these people and we can take care of your paperwork."
So he comes upstairs about twenty minutes later.
I had to retype all of his paperwork with him there before he could sign all the forms.
And when I asked him for his middle initial, I kid you not, he did not know what it was. He started getting confused about his last name, too, and had to sit and think about it for a second.
I asked him if I could see his documents to see what his legal name was.
He pulled out the cards.
Totally fake.
He must not have had them for very long since he couldn't remember "his" name.
