This afternoon I met up with some co-workers to wrap and deliver the Sub for Santa gifts.
I admit, I went overboard with my assignment. At first I was somewhat nervous to buy clothes & shoes for kids. I mean, I hated getting that stuff when I was a kid. I had to make sure these were some cute clothes (and for the boy--GQ)!
I went for the shoes first. Boots with faux fur trim. Skaters with skulls.
Then I made my way to the little girls' section. Oooooooh so much cute stuff! I started filling the cart with Paul Frank sweaters, matching pj sets, embroided jeans, etc etc.
For the little dude I made sure to make him look like a real man with a stylin' dress shirt. I even bought TWO PAIRS of jeans, because we all know what boys do to their pants. And I got other stuff. Because they all need to have the same number of presents, right????
It was really fun. I could have filled that cart for an HOUR probably, and not had my fill. Yikes.
There were tons of toys, too. These kids are hooked up.
And it was nice to see so many other people filling Sub for Santa lists at this particular shopping chain, too. I'm going to do this every year from now on. It's so easy to do, and means so much to the recipients. To the kids, that is.
Now let's just hope the parents stop spending half their paycheck on cable. :)
